Devices & infrastructure

A healthy foundation for every working day.

Laptops, phones, tills, servers — and the machine under a desk that runs one important job. We find everything your business depends on, bring it under one way of managing it, and keep it configured and current, so the working day starts with things that work.

Everything reports in. Updates flow out.Every kind of device reports to one inventory. Standard builds and scheduled updates go back out from it — and the one that is behind is the one you now know about.

01.1Without it

What usually goes wrong.

  • Nobody has the full list.Devices arrive faster than anyone records them, and the ones nobody knows about are the ones that never get updated.
  • Updates happen by accident.Patching is left to whoever has time, so some machines are current and others are years behind.
  • Every machine is set up differently.Without a standard build, each fault is a new investigation and each fix is a one-off.

01.2What it covers

Four parts of one job.

  • Device managementLaptops, phones, tablets and tills enrolled and managed in one place.
  • ConfigurationStandard, secure builds for every kind of device and server.
  • Updates & patchingOperating systems and applications kept current, in agreed windows.
  • Asset visibilityA live inventory of what you own, where it is and what state it is in.

Works with what you already run

  • Microsoft Intune
  • Jamf
  • Windows, macOS, iOS and Android
  • Windows Server and Linux
  • VMware and Hyper-V

01.3How it runs

Four steps, then it keeps running.

Scoped and priced before it starts: a fixed fee for the first phase, then a monthly fee for what carries on. Stop after the first phase and you keep everything.

  1. 01Find everythingMerge what already reports in — the network, device management, monitoring — and chase the strays.
  2. 02Set a standardOne configuration per kind of device, so a new laptop or till is ready the same way every time.
  3. 03Update on a schedulePatches tested, then rolled out in windows the business agrees to, with a way back if one misbehaves.
  4. 04Keep the list trueDevices enrol as part of being set up and retire as part of leaving, so the inventory keeps itself.

After the first phaseTypically 6–10 weeks

  • A live inventory: owner, place, last seen and update state.
  • A standard build for each kind of device and server.
  • An agreed update calendar, with a tested way back.
  • Unknown devices found, then enrolled or retired.

Then, every month

  • Updates tested, then rolled out in the agreed windows.
  • A monthly report of what is current, what is behind, and why.
  • New devices enrolled on arrival; old ones wiped and retired.

What we need from you

  • Admin access to your device management and servers.
  • The windows each site can take a restart in.
  • Someone at each site who can hand a device over.

01.4What you get

What is different afterwards.

  • Every device accounted for.Owner, place, last seen and update state for everything that connects to your business.
  • Updates on a schedule, not a scramble.Security fixes land in planned windows, not whenever someone notices.
  • Fewer “it worked yesterday” mornings.Standard builds and controlled changes mean fewer surprises, and faster fixes when they come.
